at the Finca
There is plenty of space on the Finca to wander about, picnic, barbecue, lie in the sun, look at the sea, look at the sky, read, also idyllic ,secluded spots. Folding chairs and deck chairs are available, as well as portable parasols for the Finca and the beach. Two sandy beaches next to the finca. The black sand stores heat - of advantage if you suffer from rheumatism or wish to enjoy beautiful sunsets in swimming costume.
Nude bathing is permitted here at the beach on the foto but not obligatory. However, in the 'winter' this beach is often flooded and it is always somewhat difficult to reach. Often the beach is wide, and gently inclined, with only a few people.
in Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz
The small town of Orotava, to which El Rincón belongs, has a historical town centre, old houses with beautiful wooden balconies and idyllic courtyards, pretty squares, and an interesting historical park. Promenade Puerto de la Cruz has an older part with an idyllic 'plaza' and a small harbour, picturesque seaside promenades, an architecturally distinguished park with sea water pools for bathing, the 'Loro Parque' - an animal adventure park with the largest collection of parrots anywhere in the world -, an interesting botanical garden founded in 1788, and a 9-hole golf course offering golfing lessons. A bit further on there is an 18-hole golf course.

There are extraordinarily varied opportunities for attractive short or long walks, near the coast - also within El Rincón itself, in the forest, in the mountains, in the volcanic landscape, as well as for excursions by bus or car, also by ship, even by submarine. You could climb the Teide or go up by cable car. The Orotava Valley is an ideal starting point for walkers. There is a diving school in Puerto.
It is cheap to hire a car. We can also arrange for you the hire of a car which you can pick up at the airport and leave there before your departure.
